Low Mood and Depression

Low Mood

Often we can feel a sense of being low, like we have lost our motivation, our passion, or we can be lacking in energy and enthusiasm for life.

Coaching and Therapy sessions can support you in re-energizing and rekindling your passion, purpose and sense of fulfillment in life.

Depression

Depression is more than feeling low or upset for a short period of time. A low mood usually gets better after a few days, however with depression, feelings of sadness persist for longer periods of time (weeks, months or even years).

Depression ranges from mild, moderate to severe.  With mild depression, you may simply feel persistently low in spirit, while severe depression can make you feel hopeless and sometimes that life is no longer worth living.

Some symptoms you can look out for in yourself and others include:

  • Physical - moving or speaking more slowly than usual, feeling tired all the time, loss or gain of weight and changes in sleep including insomnia.
  • Psychological -  ongoing low mood, feeling hopeless, anxious, irritable or worried, not having any motivation and not getting enjoyment out of life.
  • Behavioral - social withdrawal, not spending time on hobbies or interests you once enjoyed and experiencing issues in your relationships, at work or at home.

Therapy can help you to identify patterns in your thoughts and behaviour that are making it more likely for you to feel depressed, moving towards more solution based thinking and healing.
